Camera not working

When trying to open the camera app on my phone, the screen is black only showing me the types of photos modes such as single take etc. The camera also doesn't work on other apps such as Snapchat. I have tried clearing the cache on the apps that use camera and optimised my phone through settings. I have also reset my camera settings and uninstall the third party apps

Any suggestions on what I can do to resolve this?

Rebooting the phone
Ones you have cleared
The phone cache and data
And trying the camera

Depending on what software you have installed could it be that you have 'camera access' turned off like so?

So, go to your cogwheel settings in the pulldown menu, go to security/permission manager. Then go to camera and ensure it has the correct permissions for the camera all the time. Hope this helps...I had the same issue, but realized I did a thourough permissions overhaul previously and denied many. That was one of them.
