Hi - is anyone else having issues when making calls using the Samsung dialer or WhatsApp calls?
Every time I use the phone as an actual phone in the daylight the proximity sensor doesn't keep the screen switched off and I'm inviting people to calls, cutting people off changing to flight mode.
Very frustrating!!! I've tried changing the sensitivity and putting on accidental touch protection but still the same in daylight. Not as bad in the dark but does still happen
Hardware test:
go over to your dial pad and type in *#0*#, this will bring up a number of tests.
One will be the sensors.
A Samsung Experienace Store or Samsung Service Centre will be able to run a diagnostic.
Current Phone ~
Samsung Note 20 Ultra 5G SM-N9860_256Gb SnapDragon 865+
Samsung One Ui 2.5/ Android 10.
Yes, I have the issue too. Sometimes the screen stays on during the call, sometimes it stays off after the call.
hi forum,
this has been discussed over and over again, since a year. now, several updates later, the problem is still there ! doing the testfunction shows, the proximity sensor works. also installing lineage OS shows that the sensor works as expected. but not in stock-roms.
unbelievable, that is not possible, to use an almost 1000.-- phone as expected, especially not in its main-function: making phone calls.

It looks like on S20+ isn't the issue reproducible.
i still have it on my s10+ no matter what i do.
this stupid problem is still there another few months and updates later and this phone is useless like this.
this is simply *not solved.
i am pretty annoyed, that the only solution seems to be, to somehow sell this phone and quit Samsung.
