For Edge Lighting settings need to go in to Settings - Notifications - tap on Brief then Brief Pop Up Options should appear underneath - tap on that and you should then get options for Edge Lighting
( if you want a different colour for different apps then when in Edge Lighting option you will see 3 tabs in bottom half of screen - tap on the colour tab - if you select an actual colour that will be used for all apps however if you tap the black & white icon on the left that says App Colour so it has a check mark in it then it will use system app colour for each app - I don't know if is currently a bug but you are unable to assign a specific colour to an app yourself )

In the Notification Settings there should be a setting for " Included Apps " - might want to check there that notifications are turned on for the other apps you want

You need to use the charge cable for the phone and connect phone to your computer - after a few moments the phone will start charging - at that point switch phone off and do the hold volume up and power buttons as before . ( you don't need to do anything on the computer as such )
