My S10+, not even 12 months old from new...

There s a very faint scratching on the top right hand side where the bend is.

This is winding me up. πŸ˜•

EVERY single phone I have, regardless of what Gorilla rating, I have a glass screen protector.

The S10 - I could risk having. I've seen videos and news of how the finger print scan of ANYONE simply lets you in.

This really sucks.

My phone: I'm have a big fat gel case to protect. I always protect my phones. After x years, all my phones look new.

Not fair.

What can I do?

Thanks.

there are quite a few DIY suggestions out there which you could try if it's only a slight scratch.
1.toothpaste
2.vegetable oil
3.car scratch removal creams
4.baking soda/baby powder and water.

there are some others but can't remember them.

hope this helps

Thanks for those recommendations

I will actually try - I'll research beforehand

If I gave you the phone, you wouldn't be able to find.

My grip is: it shouldn't be there at all!

I was FORCED NOT to have a screen protector - that otherwise I would have had

Where did you see the videos of the fingerprint scanner letting anyone in? Must be fake or a broken phone because my S10+ would be so picky sometimes with my fingerprints that I doubt the accuracy would allow that.

You're missing something mate - that's what happens when you live in a cave. (Just a joke.)

Do a google search.

One link AMONGST MANY: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-50080586

I searched google for "s10 danger screen protector finngerprint " - maybe it's just me and I'm imagining it all.

Fair play, I had one at the time and never heard about it. I had almost the opposing effect where getting a correct reading was like a lottery win. If I had it the slightest mark on my thumb (or fingers), or my thumb was too dry or too moist, you name it, it wouldn't let me in. It was actually almost impossible to login that way at times so I'm a bit disappointed to hear many people got the luxury of being able to use any finger or thumb to open their phone. Disappointed. Not fair. That's admittedly the reason I never looked it up, as it was the antithesis is of my own experience.

So thanks for the article, I've had a look at the BBC article from 2019, it was informative and unbiased as are all BBC articles (just a joke πŸ˜‰).

I admittedly had to break lockdown recommendations to stoop out of my cave in order to get some better mobile reception to conduct this research 🀳, and to look for information on this so called "Google" as you call it, us cave folks use something similar called bing but I'll trust you. However, I decided against using confirmation bias to do this so didn't google what you told me to and instead did a more neutral search.

Whilst I was there, I realised 2019 had ended and 2020 had too (anyone even remember 2020? Lol! Same me neither?! Hope nothing bad happened 🀞) Here what I found, it appears that a long time ago an update fixed this problem and that there are plenty of screen protectors compatible in 2021 to keep your phone protected. And even at the time your phone could have been protected.

So is this a post just to say how angry you are about how you allowed your phone to attain "very faint scratching" that, I quote, if handed to people they "wouldn't be able to find"? If so... there's a dedicated board on the forum for that if you just scroll over a bit or even type in the search box you can find the "first world problems page", under section "seeking attention for Samsung to compensate me".

It's a snark eat snark world out there you know, best not be making yourself SOUND like a CHILD by using CAPITALISATION in YOUR replies about INVISIBLE scratches and being "FORCED" not to have a screen protector when one's with HOLES that don't cover the fingerprint SENSOR have been AVAILABLE for YEARS πŸ’…

Your post is wrote in a way that makes it sound like a current issue that is unsolvable. Did Samsung come around in the middle of the night to give your phone an invisible scratch or did your improper care lead to that? This is literally the whiniest thing I've ever read from someone old enough to type a message online. And your reply, tragic. You can hide your identity online, but you can't hide how pathetic you are.
