Samsung Galaxy S10 Gallery Image editor save changes bug. Hangs, fails to save.

Hello. The image editor from the Gallery has some bug that is preventing the app to save edited image...and therefore rendering the app useless. Here are the steps to reproduce

-Open image

-Edit image

-apply auto correct 

-from menu pick Style and then "Pen and wash"

-tap twice on person icon on the left side of slider

-apply changes

-press save

-progress dialog "Please wait" is shown forever and edited image is not saved.

Later the editor always asks if I want to "cancel, discard or save". Save does nothing. I guess the editor is stuck in previous save process.

Any help? Only device restart works if I want to repeat the process. Otherwise it is still stuck when applying the "Style" effect. I also cleared all Gallery cache/data, but the bug still exists.

Hi @PP23 

We've just tried to replicate this on an S10 in the office here and ours is working as it should. Is the software on your phone up to date? Go to Apps > Settings > About device > Software update. Also, let's try a soft reset on the phone. This will end all processes and give the phone a fresh start. To do this, press and hold the 'Power' and 'Volume Down' buttons until the phone restarts.

Let us know if this makes any difference.

I have been having this problem since November.  I've spent hours on the phone with both google photos and Samsung each claiming its the others problem.  I can edit my pictures but when I hit save it stops and goes to my homescreen (btw I have a Samsung S10+). It will not save ANY of my pictures.  HOWEVER...if I take a screenshot of something i can edit AND save that!!! I've been so frustrated I was going to just start using Amazon Photos but they don't support Samsungs Motion Photos feature.   HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPP!!!

For a week now, same thing is happening on my S10. Edit picture, make changes, hit save, it spins for a while then a message flashes at the bottom "unable to save changes."

Nice feature. Phone filled with bugs. S105G, and Android APIs are not working at all. Wow!

I have the same problem with the photo app on  apps10. Google Photos app crashes while trying to save photos, or it hangs or prompts me with "unable save changes" error saving edited videos .

I am not sure why this page even exists as there is no response from manufacturer but just other users having same problems. Obviously manufaturer does not care about problems or half implemented product, as long as we keep buying.

For me  stopped right here.

Same problem with just simply trying to trim a video. The trim works but I cannot save it.

Yep exactly same problem started yesterday. can trim but cant save the video it doesn't respond. Did you ever get a solution to this?
