Samsung deletes original image when edited on android 11

Despite the fact when editing a photo/image you wish to keep the original image as well as the edited version, Samsung android 11 gives you no choice, and automatically deletes the original, unlike android 10 whereby you can keep both if you so require. This takes away your choice as to whether you keep the original image or not, in this respect Samsung is taking away your ability to decide as they decide for you -THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE

After editing a photo if you click the 3 dots you can choose save copy.

Thank you for your reply so much appreciated, but I really want to save the original image as well as the edited image. This I could do before I downloaded the software update android 11, I can no longer do this. Deano89, I wish, I wish I had never updated. I will have another go and see if your suggestion will enable me to keep both the original and edited images.

Deano89 or are you Deano89 Navigator (please excuse my ignorance), you are brilliant - 100% brilliant. I do a lot of artwork with Samsung phones as I've found they have a good editing function unlike other phones which my friends have. Thanks for your remedy I can now continue creating my images. Once again THANK YOU

Not sure if, how I receive a reply!?

1. Thank you to those who have advised how to save original gallery photo on editing. I preferred previous auto keep both ... but the greater number of customers..?

2. Does anyone know if possible to reduce/remove the white photo border in gallery view. I used to enjoy making 'patchwork' multi photo screen shots ... now totally fragmented by white borders.
