Galaxy S10 SeriesIt was reported lately that (some may have notiuced it in the media) that some screen protectors could could enable users to bypass the security sensor, 3D patterns in the screen protectors were recognised as fingerprints and as a result anyone could unlock a phone wrapped in such a case.
According to the company, the issue is caused by the phones’ ultrasonic fingerprint sensor incorrectly reading 3D patterns in the screen protector as fingerprints. As a result, any person could then unlock a phone wrapped in such a case, creating a security issue. It seems the issue only occured with 3rd party screen protectors and not official ones, but in any case a concern. The advice meantime is that those using 3rd party protectors should remove these covers and deregister the fingerprints.

Galaxy S10 SeriesMy guess is that they registered fingerprints with the screen protector on and not beforehand.

Galaxy S10 SeriesFinally Samsung issued a security pacth for finger print issue yesterday. Seems that issue is related to the screen protector (ultrasonic-based fingerprint sensors registers the silicon pattern underneath the finger instead of the finger print itself). In order to fix this existing finger print should be removed and new finger print should be registered without screen protector. It is not clear if phone should be used without scren protector to unlock it with finger print.
