Proximity sensor light always blinking

My proximity sensor light on my S10+ is always blinking when the screen is on and its irritating. I've tried the basics restarting, clearing cache, wiping cache partition, etc. I'm stumped as I'm no tech expert, just hoping to get some help.

Does the proximity sensor work ? Can you test it in the sensor test ( dial *#0*# then choose "SENSOR" ) ?

All of the sensors have outputs, however I don't see a section on there for a proximity sensor.
