I obtained my new S10+ two weeks ago. I've been using Truecaller and have the paid version and never had a problem with it with the S6 or S8. I noticed, however, that I am not receiving "text jingles" when I receive text messages even though all the notifications are switched on. I figured that there was some software conflict so I tried using Samsung's standard text message app - but I have the same problem. I receive texts and don't get a jingle.
Does anyone have the same issue and if so, did you resolve it? I'm missing important messages and it's getting annoying. I didn't pay additional money for an early upgrade to experience such a simple problem. Thanks in advance.
So I've been have this same problem since the week I got my phone! No one could figure out what was wrong with it and it only happened every now and then!! But it started happening a lot more in the last 2 weeks ( omg kill me). Like everyone I missed my work text and that was not ok! I tired everything yall suggested but nowthing worked. I've read so many different forms to try to fix that my text messages notifications would just disappear for no reason. I have no antivirus software on my phone ( that I knew of or have downloaded). What I forgot about is that Samsung comes with a pre installed device care program (it's in your settings). I had to force stop it, because why would you be able to disable it lol. This has seemed to fix my problem of my text messaging notifications from disappearing all together. Hope fully this works!

What's so annoying is, the text jingles only disappeared after a software update so there was no actual reason given to why this happened and Samsung left it to the users to figure out.
Absolutely disgraceful customer service. It was, in fact, non-existent.
I've had problems with my notifications since the update that came through in November 2019. It messed with my alarm clock It was muted. I did figure out how to fix that. But the text messages are a different monster. I have to go into the settings and pick the notification sound that I want usually every day for it to work. That doesn't always work. I wish Samsung would figure out what the screw up is.
Hi mate. I know. It's frustrating. Samsung ignored all my messages, all my tweets and e-mails. It's like they've done "a Microsoft" by releasing bad software and then have users to post solutions. It's pure laziness.
Anyway, as for your problem; do you have an antivirus app, anti-Malware app or some other security software? This is how I resolved the problem because it turns out that the antivirus (I use Avast), was force-blocking notifications.
But, it wasn't easy to find. I had to go through every single app, starting off with the most possible culprits, to check the settings and look at everything that was related to notifications.
Anyway, please check those antivirus/Malware apps first - because I had to do the exact same thing has you after they updated the software about a year ago.
I had the same problem for about a week, ot was frustrating with not being notified for incoming text messages. Tried everything through tutorials with system settings for notification,battery saver, energy settings but nothing worked. A security app that i use for about a year though, suddenly decided through a function called notification cleaner that somehow turned on to only stop notification from text messages...i switched it off, and magically everything was solved!

While I resolved my issue several months ago (after months of trying), I started the experience the same thing again.
Turns out if you turn the volume down while playing a game or on certain apps, it all but eliminates text message and other notifications too. All I get is a vibration.
So, while media and notificiations jingles are supposed to be seperate, there is a software conflict here where if you turn your media sound down while that app is on, it also turns down/off your notification sound. But here's the thing; when you "down sweep" and look at the sound levels; all of them (including your notifications) is on maximum.
I love my Samsung phone and will choose this over iPhone anyday - but I'm actually quite shocked at the complacency of Samsung's software people (do they even monitor these messages???)
I tried that but no luck for me. Do you mean long press on each contact when you open the text app?
I read about the "long press" but I don't think the resolved the situation.
This is more of an issue where other software, e.g. Malwarebytes or Avast (antivirus), was overriding notifications.
So, you have to go to each app that monitors your mobile's security and ensure that that app is monitoring your text messages (which in the case of antivirus, it will be) so you want to locate where it has notifications within the antivirus app, select the text app and disable the notification setting there so it doesn't override the actual text app notifications.
