Galaxy S10 SeriesIs there going to be a fix for this anytime soon because I've been told to record my call with my ex husband for safety reasons

Galaxy S10 SeriesWe're not aware of any plans to change this just at the moment we're afraid, @Mel1989.

Galaxy S10 SeriesSad to hear Samsung doesn't help to protect their customers...I too have had issues with not being able to record calls from my abusive ex & have sent several feedbacks with my concerns, but now I know I need to get different phone that will help protect me & mine. ...and it won't be a Samsung. I've only been burned by your updates.

Galaxy S10 SeriesJust so I'm sure you are aware:
You do know that the Android Operating System is made by Google, right?
Thus when Google makes a decicion to change the OS, Samsung doesn't have a choice. You can be a not-fan of Samsung as much as you want but your only alternative would be to get an iPhone or a smartphone that doesn't run Android which according to https://www.idc.com/promo/smartphone-market-share/os is less than 14 % of all smartphones.
It's just like Microsoft creates Windows, not vendors like Dell or Hewlet Packard.

Galaxy S10 SeriesSure I do. Ive tried both Microsoft & apple phones...have stayed with Samsung cause I liked the phone & features...sorry, but now because of the issues I've had with S10e, I think I'll try a cricket 🙂

Galaxy S10 SeriesAbsolutely nothing prevent Samsung to build a native call recorder function within their version of Android, Huawei does it for their P20 serie. Rather than filling up their OS with bloatware than no one use they should spend their time on usefull functionality.

Galaxy S10 SeriesAndroid is an open source operating system and Samsung already has its own slightly modified version of it for their smartphones which they market as "One UI". Google does enforce some applications as pre-installed system apps as part of its Play Store licensing (also known as Google Apps for Android) but that doesn't prevent Samsung from implementing call recording. The software to make phonecalls or send messages are not part of the enforced software. Including Google Chrome web browser is part of the deal, though.
It seems to me that Samsung (and Google) are just too cautious with their call recording feature. I live in Finland and here law explicitly allows recording any phone calls and discussions as long as at least one party is aware of the recording. That is, eavesdropping/recording a discussion you're not part of is illegal but everything else is explicitly allowed. Permanently enabling call recording for your own smartphone should be allowed by law here but is not enabled by Samsung firmware in practice.
