When ever I have received calls via messenger or whats app, regular or video call most of the time the other person can't hear me it works every now and again but whenever I hang up and call back it works no problem. Can anyone help with this issue?

Same problem on note 9. Tapping the speaker button on and off seems to sort it but it's not ideal. Incoming calls only. Out going fine.

@Steme I will try your loudspeaker fix next time it happens and see if that works for me also. If it does it is most certainly a software issue or some sort of issue with an installed app. I might try to do a factory reset and see if the issue goes away.

I've been onto Samsung support. They suggested removing sum card, wiping and replacing and that seemed to do the trick right after but same problem back today. The next step the suggest is the factory reset 😞

I am having exactly  the same problem with my Note 9 since a few weeks. I have deinstalled everything I installed lately but didn't fixed anything only thing I figured that works but ain't a fix, if the phone is muted and since I am not the only person which has that problem and didn't made any changes to my phone, means that Samsung messed up the last update, either on purpose  or not but not having a fixed it, maybe they want people to buy a new phone...

Hi All,

The temporary solution is when you answer a call tap loudspeaker button twice which will turn the mic on. This works every time on my phone which is also confirms that this is a software issue.

I have completed a factory reset on my phone and so far the problem has not come back. Only been 2 days so you never know, I also have not reinstalled all the apps I had so it is possible one of them might have caused the issue.

Dear, after some tests it seems properly working removing bixby features: vocal activation, automatic listening, use with locked smartphone and other features letting bixby automatic activation. After different incoming calls it seems properly working. Please let me know your experience.

The problem with my device have been gone for some time but not sure if it's because I've disabled Bixby voice or it's something else. But it works for now.

Dear All,

Also can confirm after around 2 weeks I disabled bixby features mentioned above, the incoming calls no more muted.

Maybe this only a workaraund, but seems working.

Lack of bixby voice activation is not hurts as muted mic anoys on incoming calls :smiling-face:
