I can no longer record Slow Motion on my S10 and output MP4 files at 1080p 240 FPS. This used to work.

Hi, I'm at my wit's end, I used to record lots of videos at 1080p 240 FPS on my Galaxy S10 using regular slow motion mode, and now, since the past month or so, I can't do that. It always records files to 1080p 30 FPS instead. 

Help! I looked through all the camera settings and tried every option I could find. I just want my S10 to record true 240 FPS videos like it used to.

Hi @GalaxyFan77/. 0.4 seconds of video should be 960 fps and 0.8 seconds of video captured should be 480 fps. Are you in the correct lighting conditions?

I'm recording in a variety of conditions but the important thing is that a) I've got dozens of 1080p 240 FPS native (not 30 FPS slow motion) videos that came out of my S10 last year, b) 960 FPS slow mo video encoded as 720p 30 FPS work the same as before.

It must be either a setting has changed (by accident?) or the camera software has been updated. 

I'd really appreciate if any S10 owners out there could try regular slow motion and look at the mp4 metadata to verify the file is indeed written as 1080p 240 FPS native.

Use regular  "Slow Motion" recording for 240FPS no "Super Slow-Mo".
If you don't see it right away, check under more at most right side of modes.

I think what happened is that I tried to preview the regular slow motion on the phone itself, and this somehow triggered the phone to switch config. Now every time I record under regular slow mo it's at 30 FPS.

The only options I could find relating to the output file format are HD vs FHD (720p vs 1080p), HDR and wide angle correction. Those are all off (and I never turned them before, either).

If you own an S10, and it's updated to the latest software, can you please try it for me? I wonder if I should try resetting my phone to factory defaults. I already set the camera settings back to default and no change.

Unfortunately I tried too, but it saves 30fps to PC and gallery. *****, I couldn't find a solution. I cannot edit a slow motion video with another program. Samsung officials do nothing. I use Android 10, but the slow motion feature was better when I first bought the phone.

It only stopped working a few updates ago, at most. I have some 1080p 240 FPS videos copied off my phone as recently as december 2019.

Samsung people, can you look at this for us please? Software updates aren't supposed to be a downgrade.

If Samsung doesn't restore the ability to record at 240 FPS at 1080p, this will be the last Samsung phone I purchase. I cannot tolerate software downgrades like this.

Fix it or lose a customer for life. You've already canned GearVR for no good reason, wasting tons of my money, so I see no reason to buy an S20 especially when I cannot trust that you will maintain the launch day specs that I assumed would remain valid.

If there's no 240 FPS recording option soon, I'll sell my phone and move on.

I wanted to export 240 fps video just at this moment and it seems to be impossible i only get 30 like you guys and it pisses me off. I wanted to edit the video on my Pc . 

I hope they change it back the way it was.

I really have to scratch my head and wonder, did they make this change because people aren't smart enough to realize that 1080p 240 FPS encoded files are different than 8X slow motion?

I'm not even sure the encodes at 30 FPS are indeed 8X either, to my tests they look like 4X, i.e. 120 FPS. I'll take another look. Either way it's frikken ridiculous for them to pull the rug out from under us like this.

Some of us specifically bought our phones over other models because of these features. Time to start looking at other vendors for my next phone I guess.
