I agree the Ui is an important integrated part of the phone but it doesn't take away from what this phones achieves when using it.

A person can use a 3rd Party Launcher such as Nova Prime and a theme and icon pack to change the aesthetics if they do not like the look of the Samsung One Ui.

It did take a few days to get used to the new app icons and how things are displayed and shown.

Certain things I liked and used have been removed so to try and get those reintroduced or something similar introduced I've sent my feedback via the Samsung Members App  / Samsung + App

Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²³ Ultra 512Gb in Phantom Black.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

I'm one of those who don't care about "themes".  I like a good wallpaper and folders. I don't mind that the clock is now on the left and not the right. The change in the icons for me,  totally unimportant. Even the recent app tab is configurable and can be hidden.  All that is cosmetic.  Most of the complaints I've seen posted here and in other places refer only to the cosmetic and not to the heart of the system. Don't like the icons? Download an icon pack.  Don't line the desktop,  download something like Nova Prime. Don't like the background?  Pick a new one.

My only complaints are problems within the system. Features that either don't work or were taken away for no reason.

But if you don't like the appearance,  change it.

Thanks bandofbrothers for the nova suggestion as im new to android, has helped alot 👍🏽 i tend to experience alot of technical issues with this update too..this still does not justify why buying nova app to fix the visual usuabitly with a flagship device and having other techical issues...such poor action was taken by samsung relesing this update. Agin thanks BOB

you can't change the icons of system menus, you can't change the appereance of notification bar and dropdown menu, you can't change the useless empty space at the top of every system menus, icon in the edge panels are not affected by icon packs in the play store.

to change icons you must install an alternative launcher, and then, the only icons you can change are the ones of the desktop and "all apps", and these icons only changes when the launcher is in use.

so, in every other screen in this new ugly OneUI, the icons won't change, and now we're forced with the current childish and colorful interface that has nothing to do with the phone that we bought.

and the interface that you have in front of your eyes every time you use an electronic device like a smartphone, is the most important aspect for a high quality user experience.

I absolutly agree!! I'm with T-mobile, have been stuggling with buying a new phone for a year. My old Note 4 was wonderful. I was just beginning to love the Note 9.

Ive had the Note 9 for almost a month, today it updated to piece of PIE. I called T-mobile and asked if they would help get it back, she said no that it was Samsung who issues the updates,,, they said they would(in broken Engrish) get me over to Samsung tech support.

I got transfered over to Samsung. The lady asked what she could do to help, I gave her the story and she said "sorry, thats just the way it goes"  I was shocked!  I said; "if this is the way this phone had been when I tried it out in the T-Mobile store, I wouold have NEVER have gotten it". She was quiet, then she said; "Is there anything I can help you with?"  REALLY?!?!?!

Why didn't I think of that?? Pour more money into my business phone, which now looks like it was made by Fisher-Price. That is nonsense, Samsung needs to leave it alone. It is not the phone that it was when I bought it.. What they did is criminal!

At shouldn't have to download another launcher to overcome their stupid updates.. My battery used to last all day. Now, it doesn't. It screwed up my self designed wallpaper and the photo gallery is rediculous to navigate.. I want to be able to undo this crappy "update"..
