Hello, I've had my note 9 about 6 days now.
I've noticed quite a deep scratch on the screen, this is a phone that is in a pocket on its own.
Please bare in mind, I kept my iPhone 7 plus in worse conditions and it has never had a scratch so deep!
I feel like the only one getting this? Carphone Warehouse are turning me away, Samsung arent/won't do anything about it they just told me to go back to the Carphone Warehouse. There's not a single scratch anywhere else on the phone, just the screen.
Solved! Go to Solution.
The WhiteStone Dome Glass Screen Protector isn't the cheapest but imo the best on the market as it uses silicone glue all over the screen unlike some that just have adhesive on the edges.
I have one on my Note 9.
You can buy them with one protector in the pack or a twin pack.
As long as you follow the instructions and leave plenty of time to do it it'll go fine.
You cure it twice.
Once while it's still in the fitting cradle and then again when it's out of the cradle.
In all around 30 minutes as you use the supplied Uv light at the top middle and bottom twice.
I personally let it do it's thing at 5 minutes at each part of the screen.
Here is the official video.

Thank you everyone for your replies!
I'm not extremely please to do it, but I think I'll put that dome screen protector on, hopefully it'll hide the scratch well!
As of now, a week or so after posting I have had no new scratches.
Thanks again. 😊
Had the note 9 for 2 weeks now in a S clear view case. Bits are getting into the case and could scratch the screen so I guess a screen protector is needed but have decided against the expensive £40 version and gone for the cheaper Alinsea at £6. Hope I have made the right decision!
Hi mate .. just thought I would add to this I also have a note 9 which cost a fortune... both front screen and rear camera screens and scratched to death... deep.. may I add I have a note 4 aswell which has been all over the world.. and not a single mark on the screen at all!!!... I think the new note 9 curved junk screen is to con us all out of hard earned money and replace them every year... not impressed with the note 9 quality at all... mine also freezes.. and clitches after updates... the same way they killed off all of the older notes.... I think it's time we both changed to huwaeii 😃
I noticed two scratches after only a few weeks of having the note 9. Then today, two more. My phone is rarely in a pocket other than the designated one in my purse with nothing else in it (and hasn't been in the purse at all today). I have a Note 5 that has NOT been babied at all and probably has less scratches on the screen! I haven't used a screen protector on either phone. I think there's either a defect or the glass they're using is inferior. 😒
Read about this on several other forums as well, this seems to be an issue with most phones sporting newer gorilla glass. Apparently the newer ones are more shatter resistant but use a softer material making it more vulnerable to scratches. But i am not convinced this is the case, if you watch the Jerryrig note 9 durablity video, it scratches at a 6, a similar level to other phones.
my screen after 1 month disaster i was very careful I do not understand how can bee so scratched
Any pics ?
I just got my note 9 last December and noticed there is a scratch on the right upper part of the screen. It was never dropped on a hard floor or rough surface, it did fell from my side table while it hanged from the power cable. I didn't think it would easily get a scratch from that.
I have seen videos of scratch tests and those units they tested using metals tools didn't even get a scratch! Is there something wrong with the units they released or were they sending the best units for testing?
I use a £ 2 tempered glass from ebay or Aliexpress they work fine and touch is ok. The FPS is at the back not like the S10. iF ANYONE NEEDS A LINK TO THE BEST TEMPERED GLASS which sticks let me know.
I would not pay €50 for that whitedome when I paid € 1000 for the phone. Even a TPU/Hydrogel film of good quality like ZNP will do.
