Hello everyone.
After having my new Samsung Galaxy Note 9 for a couple of weeks, and using it for non-calling purposes, and when I started making calls, I discovered that the other party of the call either calling me or receiving my call cannot hear me no matter I speak to them using the handset or the speaker.
Actually, I faced this problem with my Samsung Note 8 and I solved that problematic issue by disabling the HD feature of the call sound. However, this time I cannot even find that option on my current Note 9 run by Android 8.1.0 & Samsung Experience 9.5. I have tried every possible fix including getting rid of all suspected apps but all my efforts went in vain. Therefore, now, the only way to make a call or receive it is by using earphones.
Dear Samsung, dear all users lease, please help to find me a very soon fix for this irritating problem.
Regards.

Go to Settings-->Sound and Viberation-->Advanced sound settings-->Separate app sound.
In this, turn ON the switch at the top. this will open up option to choose an app to play its sound on a different device.
i just selected you tube (as youtube video was also not having any sound without earphone/headphone) and it give further option to choose audio device, which i selected as "phone".
That's it. it resolved the problem for incoming/outgoing calls as well.

I just received a replacement Note9 and having same issue ... audio keep dropping no matter what app I'm using including phone. Restarting phone and even factory reset do nothing. Very frustrated Even cleared systed cache. Very frustrated. Was told to visit a Samsung service center which I will do. Nit sure what they will do but unless they know what the root cause is I'm going to ask that I be let out of my contract, refunded and go back to Note8. The phone is worthless without sound.

take a pin and clean the microphone port on the top right corner of the phone. evidently that is the mic for the speakerphone and it can get clogged with dust or debris. Its a very small hole so the dirt might be covering it completely.

I am having the same problem. It looks like these phones are designed to last you a year and then they want you to buy a new phone.
My Symptoms on Note 9 Exonysos.
No audio. On calls, games,
Or year phone jack.
But Bluetooth works fine except for alls.
Anything you do to the headphone jack it ignores.
Samsung service center says I need to change the motherboard. Most probably.
Local service shops say you need to change the audio IC and its a common problem on the S9s. And Note 9s.
The humidity did go past 90% for a few days and I suspect this is the culprit.
Thanks to this lockdown my only option may be to figure out the audio IC number they are talking about. Order it and put it in myself. If that fails then I can just replace the complete motherboard.
But yeah really disappointed with a flagship phone not lasting 2 years. And I baby my phone.
My wife one plus is older and still going strong. My daughter's iPhone which is also older is doing fine.
Been a not fan for the past 10 years. But this may be my last.
Please help by confirming the Note 9 Audio Chip.
Ps: If you try to record a video it will start but you can't stop it. And the recording cant be stopped.
If you try to use the Samsung sound recorder the same issue.

The problem is mostly their audio IC. And this is a common problem.
The IC I am told to order is Audio IC MAX98512
Some people are saying the problem is related to the latest update.
