Galaxy Note20 SeriesI recently received a very welcomed update to my Nordic version Note 20 Ultra. Baseband version N986BXXU1ATJ5. I was happy to get it because it fixed an issue that made Google pay not work. Everything was fine until I started to notice that I would constantly loose internet connection. I first noticed it at work and thought they were having problems again, but then I noticed it happening at home too. I went through all the trouble shooting of restarting my router and modem and clearing cache on my phone, but it's no good. I randomly loose internet connection and to get it back i have to turn WiFi off and on again. It is extremely unstable and annoying, especially when trying to message or video chat. It's also annoying because now I get cluster notifications. If I'm not using my phone for a little bit, all of the sudden I'll get several notifications in a row from various apps that have been offline due to the problem.
Is there anyone else experiencing this? Is so anyone have a potential fix?

Galaxy Note20 SeriesSame here! I have had a nightmare since the November security update - I use a Google wifi router and have to switch between the main network and guest - it seems to hate 5ghz now (guest seems to default to 2.4). For some reason Samsung don't allow us to set a preference. I have tried all the usual trouble shooting steps but to no avail.
A key issue for me is a poor phone signal so I rely on wifi calling...hopefully in an emergency I'll have time to switch wifi networks!!
I have submitted feedback in members app and am expecting the usual template response. I just hope the next update fixes the issues, god knows what they did with November!

Galaxy Note20 SeriesI also submitted an error report in the members app. Hopefully they can get a quick fix on it. Interesting that you say it works well on 2.4ghz. I'll have to see if that works for me too. I also have a Google WiFi system set up. I'm kind of wondering if it is having a problem with jumping between nodes. 🤔

Galaxy Note20 SeriesIt no longer works well on 2.4ghz! It is absolutely fine in safe mode - at least I haven't so far had an issue in safe mode. I dug out my Note 9 which hasn't been updated since August, no issues at all with that, and all other devices are fine. I am debating a factory reset.....I really really do not want to do this, especially as some searching around for other Samsung users with wifi issues reveals this to be a temporary fix at best, and yet safe mode would indicate an app issue? I can't seem to find out what is different about wifi in safe mode.....

Galaxy Note20 SeriesI'll add that back when I had my S8 Plus and used my ISP provided router (Virgin Hub 3) I had this issue. Then it happened with my iMac so I bought the google wifi back then and it has been superb since, no problems with the S8 plus, nor the Note 9 that followed it.

Galaxy Note20 SeriesThat is very peculiar it would be fixed when in safe mode. I would assume that WiFi is solely a system app, but that would suggest that it is a non system app causing the issue if that is the case. Perhaps Samsung has an additional/supplemental app that does something with WiFi. I was thinking maybe Secure WiFi but I haven't set that up on my device since I have something similar with my ISP.

Galaxy Note20 SeriesA factory reset didn't help, I kept it barebones but to no avail!

Galaxy Note20 SeriesIt's definitely a firmware issue. I'm afraid we are going to have to wait for an update for a fix.

Galaxy Note20 SeriesNo doubt my tweaking is a temporary fix, but I have had some stability by changing things in the advanced section for the network, including setting a static ip and choosing that in ip settings, changing DNS 2 to googles, and choosing use device mac. In Developer options I have wifi scan throttling and wifi safe mode selected (although they didn't previously seem to make much difference). How long this will last I don't know.
