Hi

Regularly when i answer a call and put the phone to my ear i can see the screen remains on. I'll move it away and back but no better. Often if i put it into loudspeaker mode then back again it works. However just now it didn't matter what i did, it remained on.

I tried moving the top part of the phone around so my ear was covering different parts but no better.

The case it is in comes nowhere near the screen and the screen protector is crystal clear.

Any thoughts and help welcome.

no help with this guy's? it's been a while so i thought I'd revisit this thread.

I've found the code to get in to the test menu specifically for the prox and light sensors and it turns green and changes from 0 to 1 when i put my hand close so the proximity sensor is fine.

however it still happens. I've just had it happen twice when my wife called. i moved it around sightly to see if my ear was missing the area but no good. this time, when i pressed loud speaker on then back off and put it to my ear it worked which resolves it most times but only for that call then it's back to the issue.

on a couple of occasions, nothing has resolved it.

i figured I'd post this. not a resolution but i believe I've found the reason.

it only seems to happen when i receive a call not when i place a call.

i googled that and found a Samsung page that said it disables the proximity sensor if anything like a headset is attached. i have a Huawei watch that has a mic and speaker if you want to answer a call on the watch. however it seems that even if i answer on the phone, it still keeps the screen on.

strange really as the whole point of answering on the phone is that i want to take it on the phone.
