Galaxy NOTE20 Ultra 5G slow 4G/LTE connection in coparation with Galaxy S7

Hi there,

 

I have issue with my new Galaxy NOTE20 Ultra 5G. With the same SIM card with same provider and same location there is drop of my speed at half in comparation with old SAMSUNG Galaxy S7 Edge. With the same provider and using iPhone I am gettign 300Mbit+ DOWN and 120Mbit+ UP from the same location. With NOTE20 Ultra 5G I am getting 20Mbit/2-8Mbit DOWN/UP which is simply terrible. 

I have called to provider but there is no issue as I am able to reach maximum speed for their 4G/LTE at this moment. 5G is not available in my location yet. So I have tried switch Mobile Network profile in phone to 4G-2G from 5G-2G but it is the same.

Wi-fi work just fine.

Is this known issue and will be fixed in future updates or phone needs to go for service?

I had this with note 10 plus 5g. got rid pretty fast

What do you mean got rid? Samsung push some fix for that issue?

Hi. Can you go to Settings -> Connections->Mobile networks->Access point names-> hit the 3 dots and select " reset to default ".
Hope that fixes your problem. But , at the time of your test , how many signal bars you've had ?

Hi I have did reset. Does not help unfortunately. I have 3 of 4 or 4 of 4 signal bars during the test. I have tried it outside/inside the flat and more locations but still the same issue (about 30/5 speed)...

hi very sorry I meant I got rid of phone. Tried 4 networks and one phone next to me got 50mbps on ee pixel 3a and that note got 7mbps. Im actually trying galaxy fold 2 now

Yes sure, just have it few days and I can ask for warranty support service but it will be pain to configure all apps even with full backup via Smart Switch. I was asked by our local Samsung support to reset factory defaults and try it than but have to find time for it. If won´t help factory reset I can order repair pickup with temp replacement until my issue/phone will be fixed.

Hi,

 

I am having samsung note20 ultra 5g handset.

 

I have issues in wi-fi download and upload speeds. I have  fibernet connection and wi-fi setup working with speeds upto 300Mbps.

My other samsung note 6 and iphone X gives me upload & download speeds upto 50Mbps on same wi-fi ssid, whereas my note20 ultra 5g gives only max of 3 to 4 Mbps for both download & upload.

 

I tried resetting and all stuff i could try.

 

I am using ookhla speed test on all my devices to check speed.

 

I tried this when i found my note20 ultra 5g is taking more time to download & upload files and whatSapp videos or YouTube videos much more than my other videos do or downloading large files.

 

Please help to sort this out.

Well wifi is fine...it depends what wi-fi router you have. I have changed recently to AC (WI-FI 5) but Galaxy NOTE20 ultra supports up to AX (WI-FI 6 - latest one) up to 3 Gbps...I am able to get about 600 Mbit via Ookla speed test. Router is connected to 1Gbit/150Mbit optical line.
So try maybe change some channel or use 5G instead of 2,4G wi-fi range where is more channels so less interference from neighbors.

In my case I have only issue with 4G/LET (4G+) mobile connectivity and speed....
