Factory Reset One UI 3.0

If I factory reset my Samsung Note 20 Ultra, will it revert back to not having the One UI 3.0 update or will it still be there? If it would still there, can someone walk me through how I can go back to the version prior to this recent update, preferably without rooting.

The reason I would like to go back is because Android 11 seems to block controllers from being recognised in apps such as CoD Mobile due to a overlooked bug with accessibility settings and it doesn't look like it will be fixed anytime soon.

Thanks in advance :smiling-face:

Hey there ShadowTriad!

I'm really sorry, but I don't think performing a factory reset will take you back to One UI 2.x. One UI 3.x is issued as a firmware update, and firmware updates aren't normally removed during a factory reset.

You could opt to try to "flash" the previous firmware, but I don't recommend it if you're not sure how to do it, as it can brick your phone and void your warranty.

Your best bet is probably to wait for Activision to release an update for CoD Mobile, or for a patch to be released for One UI 3.x.

Sorry for the inconvenience, and happy holidays!

All the best,
Tom 🙂

Hello shadowTriad
Actually there is no way that you can go back to lower one ui or android update.
Rooting is the only way but it voids your knox warranty.

Thanks for the replies, I think I'll just have to wait for either side to make an update to fix this issue then.

By any chance is there a way to disable accessibility completely? I've tried to disable it through the settings app but I feel like there are underlying settings that I need to dig deeper for. I wouldn't mind getting rid of accessibility completely if it lets me use the controller.

You can flash back to 2.5 using Odin and firmware from samfw.com, instructions are also on that site

No a factory reset won't revert the phone back to the previous software @ShadowTriad but a Custom Rom will.

Find out more on xdadevelopers.com.

Disclaimer
Using a Custom Rom can bring about an unstable phone or it may not work properly if the process glitches or the wrong Rom is used.
A person takes full responsibility if they perform this process and do so at their own informed decision. Samsung would levy a charge to put this right.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "
