Hello,
When I set preferred sim for calls to "Ask always", later when disable SIM2 and enable it again, preferred sim change to SIM1. Why doesn't stay always on "Ask always"?
To clarify, on phone I have home and work sim cards. Work sim card I disable after work time and enable tomorrow. Then if forget to set preferred sim, calls goes from home sim! 😤
Does anyone know what the solution to this problem is?
Also, how is it possible that there is no quick shortcut to enable/disable SIM card? On quick panel there are over 30 toggles, and none of them for dual sim (!?). I see option "SIM info" but it is shown only when enabled both SIMs, when disable SIM2 (aster work hours), there is no way to turn it on quicky.
So every morning I must go to Settings, Connections, Sim Card Manager, SIM2, Enable, Back, Preferred SIM for Calls, "Ask always"... It is too much steps for business phone this price!
...or no one but me uses two cards so it hasn’t been thought about this 🤔
Edit:
One more thing: when starting phone if sim2 is disabled, on startup always shows Sim Card Manager and I must click to "Done". This is unnecessary dialog, probably a bug.

I'm in your same situation but one more thing!
I'm playing online with phone sometimes and dual SIM cause extreme lags... the solution is disable a SIM, it would be great if notification bar would allow you tu enable/disable SIM card easely.
P.S. I have Galaxy S10

@SaleCar , @Ruslan23 - I'm happy to help any Friend that has a Samsung Dual SIM device!!
FYI, I'm from Toronto, Canada and my Samsung Dual Sim Note 10+ device MODEL NUMBER: SM-N975F/DS is an international import (I believe from Samsung Vietnam). I use SIM1 (Network Provider: BELL Canada) for work purposes and SIM2 (Network Provider: Rogers) for personal use. After running out of patience waiting many months for Samsung to fix this issue in UI 3.0, well, on March 4th 2021, I decided to revert back to Android 10, UI 2.5. Since then, my device is back to normal and working perfectly fine. Just like everyone here and many other similar threads for same issue, now I'm just monitoring every Samsung Community daily and waiting for someone to eventually post good news that Samsung has fixed this issue in Android 11, UI 3.x. Meanwhile, the best part is I have my SIM1 + SIM2 buttons for calls and messages! Since I'm in Canada, Samsung Members app will only connect to a local country, so when I posted a this issue in Samsung Community in Canada, fortunately and so lucky that I got help from an Expert Level 5 (CHMultimedia) who did me the huge favor uploading Authentic Samsung Software files and instructions with screenshots to his OneDrive. Please see below.
WARNING / CAUTION - PLEASE READ FIRST:
#1. Below recommended solution will only work for: SAMSUNG DUAL SIM NOTE10+ MODEL NUMBER: SM-N975F/DS
IF YOU HAVE A DIFFERENT MODEL NUMBER THEN STOP AND GET THE AUTHENTIC SAMSUNG SOFTWARE FILES THAT ARE SPECIFICALLY FOR YOUR DEVICE MODEL (sorry, I have no idea where someone would get Samsung Software files for a Dual SIM Note 10, S10, S10+, S20, Note20, Note20+, etc)
#2. BACKUP ALL YOUR DATA - ie. contacts, messages, calls, apps, and all types of media - images, videos, docs, etc....as this process will wipe out the data on your device!
For the SOLUTION to revert your Samsung Dual SIM Note10+ Model Number: SM-N975F/DS back to Android 10, UI 2.5, go to my post in SAMSUNG CANADA COMMUNITY (link below):
GOOD LUCK !!!
Respectfully,
Farooq aka @DualSIMNote10Plus

i think one key problem in getting Samsung's attention to fix this issue is we have some ppl here suggesting "workaround" steps to manually toggle between SIM1 and SIM2 which is a PAINFUL user experience results PRIVACY, SECURITY, COST issues and likely just encourages Samsung to ignore our request to fix.....
We really need everyone commenting here to just focus on requesting Samsung to fix this issue and bring back both Dual SIM1 + SIM2 buttons for calls and messages

I agree, Samsung knows it is a major issue for their users but the response I got when I raised this with their customer support team was rubbish. Like you guys above, I have 1 personal & 1 business sim in my S21 and it frequently will change the sms & call setting on my sims resulting in business clients getting my personal number and vice versa. Breaches privacy which should be a major call to action by Samsung for its members. Makes one consider Apple as I dont hear of any issues there and with the support they get, I am sure it if was it would be addressed a lot quicker than what Samsung have. Very very disappointing

I have a note 20 ultra, and i experience the same problems with the dual sim setup. The features around the dual sims should be expanded, i would love to set up my business sim to turn off automatically at a certain time everyday or at least, as requested here, have a shortcut for it.
I also have a problem with the sim always on feature, where it seems like i simply can't turn it off. Somehow it got turned on the first time for one sim only, (the toggle still appears to be off) and since then i just can't turn it off. So now when i receive a call from my personal number when my phone is off, it transfers to the business sim.

Replying to @DualSIMNote10Plus: In case this is similar to your situation and might be of use for others: i just started using a Samsung S21 5G with 1 physical SIM in slot 1 and 1 eSIM as SIM2. I got told people could not call me on my SIM1. I noticed the bars indicating network connection quality were bouncing all over. Fiddled around: when i force SIM2 to only use 3G, SIM1 at least has a stable network connection ... Hoping Samsung will inform users of the situation and fix it asap.
