I am so disappointed with my Note20 Ultra's battery life, I've never seen a brand new phone that drains like this. Yesterday I left the house with 88% bat, I've been on a fb messenger videocall for 46 min and the battery dropped to 33% ( on my previous phone, same amount of videocall time would drain a maximum of 25% of the bat). I've made a 6 min phone call and listen to a 15 min podcast and the bat dropped to 13%. By 11am my phone had 13% bat and had to charge it.
I will specify that i have not used any other apps or anything beside the ones mentioned, the phone has a Exynos processor. I am seriously thinking of returning it as this is just crazy, for the amount of money you pay, it can't even last half a day? Any ideas anyone please.

Hi @Crisit ,

Right, so our Note 20 has within it an adaptive battery. This will, within a couple of weeks of you having the device, learn how you use your phone and then adjust the power accordingly to get the best results out of it. So we recommend continuing on with the phone and we're sure that you will notice an improvement in the battery as the phone learns from you. Can you let your battery run down to below 50% from a full charge and then send us a screenshot of your battery usage? You can get this by going to Menu> Settings> Device Care> Battery> Battery Usage.

Hi, I'll listen to the advice I've got bellow and give the device 2 weeks to see how it goes. If there won't be a noticeable improvement, its going back.

give it 5 days to learn your usage
let the battery completely run out a couple.of times
but seriously don't expect to see much more that 5-6hrs screen on time
Best I had is about close to 8hrs but on average I get 5hrs screen of time a day
my battery sucks today 3hrs 9mins sot and 29% battery left 😢

I will give it some time, I would be happy with 5-6h to be honest. I see that you have Nova Launcher, how does it do bat wise compared to the stock UI?

Hey @Shnookerdookies ,

thanks for that. I can see that the Nova launcher has been working in the background during 12 hours. Have you tried to close this while not in use or replace this with a different launcher?

I went from iOS to Samsung after 8 years and nearly died when my note 20 ultra battery was draining fast. as others have said, I'm a month into ownership and have 40% battery at 3am from a full days usage. some days it's far lower than this or even empty but right now the optimisation has made a significant difference. I must add I did rock 2 5g simcards too I've dropped that to 1 which made a big difference.

Battery and Screen On Time is a subjective topic so as long as a phone lasts me a day from my own usage habits and how the phone is set up then that's my benchmark.

This is a screenshot I did a little while ago for another thread.

I had 50% battery left when I powered it down.

I turn my phone Off overnight at 9pm and I turn it back On at 5am.

Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²³ Ultra 512Gb in Phantom Black.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "
