Strange alien like sound notification but no notification

So, my Note 10+ has been making some strange sounds sporadically. My phone could be sitting on the table and all of a sudden it makes a strange noise - when checked no notifications. I have turned off NFC & notification reminders. This used to happen on my Galaxy S8+ too. I think it sounds like a sci-fi laser gun sound. Its irritating and wakes me up in the middle if the night! Also if my phone is on silent/vibrate it will vibrate once. 

Does anyone one have the same? or know what it may be?

An app is likely the culprit.

For me, I have a child that has a FitBit. All of my notifications and sounds are silent. Suddenly my phone starts making a strange tune that is very piercing.

Turns out they had press the "Find my phone" on the watch and turned it off a second later.

Needless to say, in my case, I had no clue until my child noticed that option was open in their watch. I tested it and sure enough.

Very useful but not when it's late at night and you don't have your sounds on. Plus no app notifications.

I've been getting this sound for the last couple of weeks too. It almost sounds like radio interfere  .... as you describe, a bit alien like. Its not obvious what's causing it. Did you ever figure out what it is?

I've had my Galaxy Note 8 since November 2017 and this is the first time I've heard it sound this noise. Is this the noise you encountered? @Vixxen

Hi - I can't play the sound you posted but I figured out what was causing it. For some reason it played instead of the normal notification sound for life360. Since I changed my phone it stopped, but now my husbands phone does it occasionally. I'm pretty sure it is life360 causing this too. But basically it's a corrupted notification sound.

Does it sound like it’s powering down. My started a couple of months ago and I just don’t know what made it start. I didn’t even know it was my phone doing it at first.

Nope not that. All those are already off. And i have had 3 different phones lately and it only seems to be me even tho the other 4 people in my family got new phones at the same time.

Its happened only to me on my last 3 phones. My wife and kids all have the same phone and it only happens to me. I followed everyone else's advice and nothing works.

I tried everyones advice and they don't work. My family all has the same phones but it only seems to happen to me. This is like my 3rd different galaxy this year and it happened on every phone!!
