Hello and goodevening,
This sounds to me not as a problem with an update. If you cant use the phone for 20 hours there is something seriously wrong with the device. If it wont charge due to background activity than I would strongly urge you to make a backup and do a factory reset. If that does not solve the problems you have than the next step is to visit a service centre or have the phone repaired by Samsung.

You can register your phone for a repair via our website. You can then choose the pick-up service or a visit to one of our service points, your phone will then be further examined in the service center.
