An app call Callapp has taken over my message notification. Even though the app is not installed in my phone. I wonder if it is a cloud app or something. I cannot find it under Apps in settings so that I can uninstall it or disable it.

Can someone help. Samsung chatbot recommended restarting my phone on maintainace mode. No help after that.

See how it blocks my screen and stops music or video the moment it pops up Screenshot_20230911_233201_Chrome.jpg

Hi, sorry to hear about your problem. I'm not sure where the Samsung chatbox was going, as I have never gone in to the maintenance mode. I would reset my phone to factory settings. It is a pain having to put everything back on your phone, but at least you know the Callapp will be gone. You could, of course, back up your phone before factory reset, but you may put the Callapp back on when you download the backup. Hoping this is of some help.

Thanks Sniggih. I didn't want to that route but if there is no solution that would be my only option

Callapp is installed from playstore, I tried it years ago but it wasn't brilliant but it does take over.

What you need to do is go into settings and default apps and ensure these are back to what they should be.
You may then need to look under system apps and make sure it not classed as system app, if it is I wonder if installed by mobile network provider as 3 used to be notorious for doing things like this.

Yes, I am on 3 network. The notification to install the app has their logo. I have been wondering why. Hopefully I have managed to removes it yesterday by going to settings and apps permissions

This is what happens with 3, which why I dropped them. They messed up settings on a few of my devices and installed unwanted apps even though devices weren't purchased through them.
You don't need their app as Samsung has built-in call and spam blocking.

You will find the app in your SECURE FOLDER.  You can uninstall from there
