Samsung's QuickShare now requires for Bluetooth to be activated on both the sending and receiving devices so that it can "find the nearby devices". No *****, that's exactly how Bluetooth works, but you see, there's a reason why it's called QuickShare instead of just effing "Bluetooth". That was the whole point! There's a reason I purposefully bought two Samsung devices: so that I can transfer files seamlessly, without having to MANUALLY turn on Bluetooth first, on both of my devices. What an absolute downgrade! This is an unilateral change of the contract to which I never gave my consent to!

It is automatic. Previously you left the quickShare toggled on otherwise the recieving device would never popup as a device to select when sending files. That acted in the same functionality as having your bluetooth on as it did require bluetooth to popup in the nearby area of your sending device. Thing is that bluetooth communication was only used on quickShare ,thus no need to set the toggle of the device ON. Now when it happens , it turns ON also the toggle as the Bluetooth process was extracted out of the quickshare list of processes as an independent process. I dont see the problem of having Bluetooth on at all times in this case. The bluetooth modem is very low energy and you used it regardless even before if you had your QuickShare visibility on.
To sum up. What has happened from a technical standpoint is that 2 apps that did almsot the same thing got merged together, generalizing both functionalities for the good of cross compatability. That meant that processes that were once incorporated but existed also as an outside independent process ,now have become 1. That is the Bluetooth, that before was used in the background (for visibility on QuickShare for example) , now is in the foreground (toggle is switched ON). This way if you switch off Bluetooth , you cut off any single functionality that also relies on the bluetooth modem, how it was supposed to work from a logical standpoint.

Hi Tahs_03, welcome to Samsung Community!
I inform you that Quick Share normally requires bluetooth to allow sharing with nearby devices. However, if bluetooth connection is disabled on your device, Quick Share activates it automatically: you should see a popup that inform you about enabling the connection.
Does your device not automatically activate BT?
Could you please tell me which Galaxy device do you have?
Have a nice day!
Bye

Hi Members_bBnJWKD, welcome to Samsung Community!
Could you please tell me which Galaxy device do you have?
Proceed as follows:
- Settings
- Applications
- Personal Applications > Three lines with down arrow
- Show system applications (option to be activated)
- Bluetooth
- Storage memory
- Clear cache
- Clear data
This procedure will unpair any Bluetooth devices currently configured on your phone.
Let me know?
Have a nice day!
