Hi all,
I hope someone can help. I just recently got a A53 5G , and tried to connect it to my Nissan Leaf 2020.
The car doesn't see the usb connection...it will charge, but not transmitting any data
I tried my gf's phone A51, this works fine.(same Android version -12 and same cable)
Also when i connect to a laptop, my phone works fine, and the diagnostics app says it works fine as well.

So i don't have a clue what's wrong..is it the new phone or the car?

Appreciate any feedback!

Goodmorning,

Please call your dealership and ask them, I think it has something to do with the car system.

Hi @leafdriver,

Congratulations on your new device! Since the Galaxy A53 has no problems connecting to other devices, it is probably an issue with the car. What you could try is reset the network settings from your smartphone: Settings > General Management > Reset network settings. If this makes no difference, it is best to contact the dealership as @Patrick advised. Perhaps they can fix this with an update. Good luck!

Hi! It looks like it's a phone issue. As the Android auto function not working well wasn't bothering me too much, i didn't further investigate. Until today i wanted to download some pictures to my laptop.. which didn't work because the laptop doesn't see the phone...
My phone got the most recent updates , and the cable is ok ( no issues with my gf's A51 phone)
Could it be some setting- i couldn't find any usb setting - normally the laptop would ask, but as it doesn't detect the device...
I guess it should be checked and repaired?

Hi @leafdriver, good morning.

You can still charge your phone? You can also test a few things by the Samsung Members app. Open the Members-app and go to Support, choose Diagnoses here and select the USB-connection test. What's the result here?

When this the test failed a repair will be the next step 😇

Keep us posted, please!

Kind regards,

Martijn

Hi Martijn, appreciate your feedback. Phone can be charged, no problem (although with smaller chargers it works incredibly slow, or it says it's charging, but battery is just draining..)
The diagnostics app says it's working fine, but it seems to me it doesn't see the laptop- just as the laptop doesn't see the phone...

Hi @leafdriver, good morning.

Thank you for your response! Do you know how to activate the Developers Mode? When you've started this, you see an option Basic USB-Configuration and activate the option File Transfer.

Be careful with other switches in the Developers Mode 😉 Keep me posted, please!

Kind regards,

Martijn

Hi Martijn, i was able to accessoires the developers mode, and file transfer is switched on. With a standard usb c to usb a cable no change. I also tested with a usb c to usb c cable on one laptop, then the phone shows up in my computer. No pop up notification on the phone though... you'd expect the standard 'file transfer/photo transfer/charge only' message.. also Android auto is still not working...

To find out whether this can be solved with an update from us, it is best to submit an error report via the Samsung Members app. My colleagues from the R&D department also receive a log from your phone and get a better picture of it. If this can be solved with an update, it will also be rolled out as soon as possible.

You can submit an error report via our Samsung Members app. Open the Samsung Members app and choose Support, then scroll down a bit and you will see Error reports.

Have you tried a different and new USB cable for the Android Auto issue? And is the car system up-2-date?

Kind regards,

Martijn

Hi Martijn, thanks.
I submitted an Error report , hope they can help. Re your last question, yes the car system is up2date, and cables should be fine, it all works perfectly with my gf's A51 phone.

Thank you
