Its happened again!

About a year or so ago, I suddenly realised a lot of my 'saved' e-mail messages in the stovk Samsung e-mail application had disappeared.

Its happened again!

All my saved e-mails between 18th July 2025 and 20th January have completely disappeared.

Please look into this and fix this problem.

Hi
This may be helpful

To stop emails from disappearing on your Samsung device, adjust the email sync settings and check your account's trash and spam folders. If using the Samsung Email app, ensure the sync period is set to "All time" and consider removing and re-adding your email account.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

1. Check Sync Settings:

Open the Email app: Access the app on your Samsung device.

Navigate to settings: Tap the menu (usually three lines) in the top left, then the settings cog.

Select your account: Choose the specific email account experiencing the issue.

Adjust Sync Period: Find the "Email sync period" setting and select "All time" to sync all emails, or choose a longer period like "1 month".

Sync Schedule: Ensure your sync schedule is set to automatically sync your email.

2. Check Folders:

Spam and Trash:

Review your email app's spam and trash folders, as emails might be automatically deleted after a certain period.

Other Folders:

Check any custom folders you might have created, as emails might be filtered there.

3. Remove and Re-add Account:

Delete Account: Go to your device's settings, find "Accounts and Backup," then "Manage Accounts," select your email, and remove it.

Add Account: Re-add the email account using the same steps, ensuring correct settings.

4. Check for Auto-Delete Settings:

Email Provider Settings:

Review your email provider's website or app for any auto-delete settings that might be causing emails to disappear.

Never Delete:

Ensure your email client is configured to not delete emails from the server, especially if using POP (as opposed to IMAP).

5. Other Troubleshooting:

Internet Connection: Make sure you have a stable Wi-Fi or mobile data connection.

App Updates: Ensure your Samsung Email app is updated to the latest version.

Contact Support: If the issue persists, consider contacting Samsung support or your email provider for further assistance.

Hi @IanJamesSeale  Have you checked the sync settings as mentioned?

with Samsung email procedure is to select the desired email, tap more and save email as file.  These emails should be in the saved email folder and can be accessed online. Similarily with the gmail app  need to move to desired Folder.

However I prefer to save important emails as a PDF file (you should have a PDF Reader)  For this method need to select Print, save as PDF,next tap PDF and select the desired Folder. I would suggest Documents or Downloads, now save and the emails shall be in My Files and in the Folder that was selected.

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.

Yes, and yes.

But I didn't have the options you described.

I've been using Samsung, and the stock e-mail app for years, and this problem has never ocurred before.

I regularly empty the deleted messaages folder too, in case the app auto- deletes when a certain number of messages is reached (but why it would delete saved messages rather than deleted messages, is crazy).
