Hi Samsung Community,
I have Samsung Galaxy A53 5G Android ver 15 One UI 7 updated on 15 June 2025. But after update its shut down button is not responding. no options appear for shutdown or restart etc. Why is the phone behaving this way when the update was presented automatically as usual? Please guide to resolve.
Sincerely,
Shahid

Hey there, @ShahidM. Welcome to the Samsung UK & Ireland Community forum. 😀
When you say that no options appear when you hold the Power button, does this open up Gemini instead? If so, please follow the steps below: to change this:
> From your device's Home screen, swipe down from the top-right of your screen. This will bring up the Quick settings panel.
> Select the cog wheel in the upper right.
> Scroll down and select "Advanced features".
> Select "Side button".
> Tap on the option that says "Long press".
> Select the bottom option, named "Power off menu".
> When you press the Power button you will now be presented with the option to do so.
If you tap on the option named "How to power off your phone" when in the screen titled "Side button", you will be provided with additional ways to turn off your phone.
If you are experiencing a different issue, please could you let us know? Many thanks.

Hi ChrisB,
Thanks, I found the power onn/off button. surprisingly, I never noticed anything appear by the name Gemini. This was a real flash response I needed. So, I chose the power onn/ off button from the top right swipe down procedure. Bixby seems overwhelming, I used to keep getting it out of the screen to move forward. Its a pleasant surprise to get your prompt response. Thank you once again.

Hi dxve,
Thank you for your prompt forthcoming offer to guide. For now, I found the power onn/off button after swiping down from top right. This serves my purpose. Thank you again for your time.
