after updating my A14 5G to One UI 7.0, my touchcreen doesn't work at all anymore.

How to fix this?

I have an A35 with most of the issues here on the forum, my screensaver kicks in at 10 seconds or so.   That's not even a setting available.  So, it seems to be common to UI7, not the hardware. JMO.

I develop and test software..... But I'm not arguing with you.

I'm clear on the message.
You don't like what you're hearing.
No one will tell you otherwise.

Wish you well.

I have to re-start mine 5 / 6 times a day after this 'upgrade' !! Never had to before, so yes I do think its this new softwear that has affected it. We won't all have the same apps on our phones that are causing the problems...

...that doesn't quite follow. it depends on the chip, the OS patch version and the GUI patch version. Samsung have already stopped the rollout of Android 15 and UI 7 once - if it was just an app issue, that wouldn't solve much. I would guess they have had multiple flaws in the rollout - had a rethink, issued a few patches - then continued the roll out to other phones and then realised there were more issues.  My A14 has the touchscreen freeze issue - but only when on battery - if I use the phone at home on power, I get no problem with the touchscreen. There may be other issues with my phone - but luckily I tend to use landline so maybe haven't encountered some of the other issues that others have seen.

Edited to add: Did you read the posts I made about Samsung having issues with the release and stopping the rollout - there were two, one from the Times of India and another from an android site - https://www.androidpolice.com/samsung-hits-pause-on-one-ui-7-rollout-due-to-major-bug/

and https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/technology/mobiles-tabs/samsung-confirms-delaying-one-ui-7-rollo...

..do you have the touchscreen freeze issue? How do you resolve it? When on battery my screen froze every time I used it - I didn't know that the power and volume down button (for seven seconds) rebooted until I read it here. The power button by itself needs the topuch screen - catch 22. But even after the reboot, it would refreeze after a random period of time. To me, that made the phone unusable.

Have Samsung given an update yet? I haven't seen one here and the only statements I've found are based on the earlier release issues - ie - from Google:

Samsung officially announced the One UI 7 (based on Android 15) rollout for early April 2025, starting with the Galaxy S24 series and foldable phones, but later halted the rollout worldwide due to a critical bug that prevented users from unlocking their devices. The company apologized for the inconvenience and stated it was suspending the update "to ensure the best possible experience" while they worked on fixes. An updated rollout schedule was then shared in the Samsung Members app, with devices like the Galaxy S23 pushed back to May, and the rollout continuing in phases through July.

Initial Announcement and Rollout (April 2025)

  • Samsung initially announced the One UI 7 rollout starting on April 7, 2025, with the Galaxy S24 series and some foldable devices.
  • The update was set to introduce a new design, AI features, and improved personalization.
Rollout Halt and Apology (Mid-April 2025)
  • A severe bug that prevented users from unlocking their devices led Samsung to halt the update globally.

  •
  • Samsung issued an apology, stating they suspended the rollout "to ensure the best possible experience" and that they were working to resume it after inspections and fixes.

  •
Revised Rollout Schedule (Late April 2025)
  • A revised rollout schedule was reportedly shared via the Samsung Members app, confirming the phased release.

  •
  • The Galaxy S24 series and some foldables were still scheduled for April, but the Galaxy S23 series was moved to May, with the rollout continuing for other devices through July.

  •
  • This schedule indicated a longer, phased approach rather than a simultaneous global release.

Anyone else here started using the Samsung Members app after advice here about recording error reporting logs?

Take a look today at a post by Sonora re One UI 8 rollout schedule....really? Maybe Samsung are looking at UI 8 as a fix to these Android 15 and UI 7 issues.  Try Googling  "samsung oneui 8 rollout plan" - you'll see that there are rumours - some site with schedules - and this from Samsung -  https://www.samsung.com/uk/one-ui/

I can't wait to hear an official 'update' (that was coming shortly) from Samsung - I hope the update is a patch for the current rollout mess.

Sort of agreed but not agreed.

This thread is about A14 devices which all have the same Chipset, Ui etc in the UK.

So it absolutely does follow
I am not employed by Samsung nor do I receive any remuneration as a Samsung Members Star.

My device is an S25 Ultra.
