QR code in the camera

Why is there no option to read qr codes through the camera? Installing a third-party app doesn't help me in cases e.g. the banking app can only use the camera to scan a qr verification code.

I have an S20 Plus and I can do that and my Mum has a Galaxy A51 and she can also scan QR codes from the camera app. What A series device are you using?

Launch the camera, go into settings and look to see if the option for QR codes is there. This is on my S20 settings.

On my phone (just to give an other possibility that might also be the ccasse on your phone) qr reading is in the quick menu when you drag from the top of your screen down, if you do not see it directly try the plus at the end of the last screen and hopefully your phone will give the option there.
