Not receiving notification sounds when screen is off

I have a Galaxy A13 5G.  Up until a little while ago when the screen is off I do not receive notification sounds.  I honestly do not know if it happens when locked or just timed out.   I also do not receive notification bubbles of any sort.  The screen stays off until I hit the power button and then all of a sudden whether it needs unlocking or not the sounds and messages appear.  The notification icons are there but it is if someone just turned the volume on.  If the screen is on and I am using the phone the notifications for say, X, come across perfect and make sound.  I have been checking individual app as well as system settings, looked online and watched a few Youtube videos.  It used to work fine for me.  Thanks in advance.

I have seen some recent posts about instances similar to yours. 

May I suggest to perform a forum search as you may find already existing threads with help and advice within.

Thank you for responding.  I did do a forum search as well as Samsung forums from other regions as well.  There were some solutions indeed offered but none of the ones available worked for me.

Thank you for responding.  All permissions for notifications, not only through the Twitter App but the phone in Notifications within settings are all set to make sound at all times.  I do not use power saving mode and nothing that restricts battery usage.

Still having the issue if anyone can help.  I talked to Samsung and we reset the settings on the phone but nothing changed.

I don't know, if you figured this out yet, but I was having the same problem the last two days and I finally figured it out just now. It was my Samsung Watch.  And I updated it to UI8 yesterday....

I was getting notifications when phone screen was on - but not when it was off. I tried turning notifications on my watch on and off, nothing. Then tried turning it off entirely and then I began getting my notifications with sound on my phone with screen off like normal.

But of course I dont know if you even have/had a Samsung Watch. But that was it for me.

Thanks for confirming it was the UI8 update on the watch. Was thinking it was the routine I had set about the same time as the update.

Located the issue and that is the watch has se on notifications to "Smart device selection", which is stupid enough to turn off all sound for notifications that show on the watch. You find it under notifications on the watch.

Really hate when they change behaviors like that with updates. Pain in the ass to discover what is wrong.
