Does work when connected to power supply if does might be dead battery.

Is this happening intermittently or at set times @brenibear

I'm thinking of the reset option in Settings!

If this isn't the case then I'd recommend to first try Safe Mode to see if this helps.

> Safe Mode  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-to-start-my-galaxy-device-in-safe-mode/ turns off downloaded apps and themes etc which may highlight an app or theme that's causing conflict.

If Safe Mode does not help then try clearing the phone's System Partition cache files.

> Clear Cache Files from the phone's System Partition Section  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-clear-the-cache-on-my-device/ You may need to insert your earphones or hook upto a powered On Laptop to access the Clear Partition Section. This may help with lag or stutters as this clears the phone of old/unused or broken cache files. There is also a Repair Apps option in the Menu System too.

If your phone takes a Sd card then remove it as a malfunctioning card can cause glitches.

Again if this does not help then a factory reset after backing up might be your last resort.

Your phone also has a diagnostic tool in your Samsung Members App.

A Samsung Service Centre can check out the phone.

I wish you all the best. Take care.  😎
