I hate the changes by the UI 7 update especially to the gallery.

Hi,

I don’t usually post on forums, but I’m honestly pretty frustrated after updating to One UI 7, and I could really use some advice or insight. I’ve always liked Samsung and adapted to changes in the past, but this time it’s been tough — especially when it comes to the Gallery app.

There are a few cosmetic changes that I really dislike:

- The new app icons lost all their commun graphic theme.

- The search bar has been moved to the bottom, which just feels unnatural.

- And I’m now stuck with only 4x6 or 5x6 home screen layouts — I used to use 4x5, and I don’t understand why they removed it.

I could probably live with those, but the real issue is the Gallery.

I’ve spent a really long time tagging my photos — over 15,000 of them — to help organize and find them more easily. It used to work really well. I could search by multiple tags like “vacation” and “family” and quickly pull up exactly what I wanted. Now, it’s a mess.

- When I try to add a second tag in the search, it often replaces the first one instead of combining them or adding them together.

- Sometimes the only way to get both tags to register is to find a photo that already has one and work from there.

- I also used to be able to view tagged photos sorted by folder, which made organizing so much easier. That seems to be completely gone.

This has honestly been upsetting. I know it’s just a phone, but I’ve put so much time and care into sorting my photo library. It feels like I’ve lost control over something that used to make my life easier.

So I’m reaching out to ask:

- Has anyone else run into this?

- Is there a trick to make multi-tag search work better?

- Are there gallery apps out there that can read or preserve the tags I’ve already added?

- Is there any chance Samsung might fix this?

I’d really appreciate any help, advice, or even just knowing I’m not the only one dealing with this. Thanks for taking the time to read this probably useless rant.

You can enable 4x5 using home up within good lock.

I don't really have anything to say about the gallery part of your issue

Thanks for the tip I really appreciate it!

It's just a bit disappointing that a feature that used to be built-in now needs an extra download to bring it back.

Still thanks I’ll give it a try.
