Android phones enable cameras to add location information to jpg pictures taken by camera application.
GPS latitude and longitude are packed into EXIF segment of jpg file. The accuracy of GPS data depends on the GPS satellite signal strength and on GPS receiver in the phone.
I tested ma Galaxy A8 phone with GeoTracker app and I'm very satisfied with it. But I was disappointed when I found out that resolution of GPS location data in jpg pictures was 1 (one) arc second. It means about 30 meters for latitude, while the resolution of longitude depends on the latitude.
I checked a few photos from other devices: Sony Xperia M, Garmin VIRB Ultra 30, Huawei VTR-L09, Xiaomi Redmi 4X and LG-V700 tablet. Resolutions are 1/1000, 1/1000000, 1/1000000, 1/10000 and 1/10000 of arc second respectively.
I have no question, this is a topic for Samsung's wish list (if exists) to update the camera software in the future.
With best regards.
