A closer comparison; same series (a year apart) but an A35 Vs A56
Theme
Design
Subjective as always, I don't really have a personal view one way or the other on this - just different.
A35 has a 6.6" Vs the A56 6.7", both 120hz AMOLED but the A56 has FHD+ and HDR10+ support.
Materials
The A35 does feel surprisingly good for the price but has plastic in it's construction (frame) but Victus+ screen, the A56 on the other hand is Victus+ glass front and back with aluminium frame✅
Both have curved / sculptured sides around the buttons
Performance
Both rocking In-house Exynos,A35 has the 1380 (5nm) andA56 with the 1580 (4nm)✅
- A35 has UFS 2.1 storage Vs A56 3.1 (twice as fast, and more power efficient)
- A35 25w Vs A56 45w peak charging
- A35 1000nits Vs A56 1200nits (1900 peak), is noticeable
Geekbench
A56 has a34% lead over single core and multicore scores
A56 has a very sizable129% improvement in GPU so gamers would certainly benefit.
Camera
A35 and A56 wide is a 50mp, the UW on A35 is an 8mp Vs the A56 12mp
Here's my willing test subject,A56 TOP, A35 below:
UW
12mp 1x
50mp 1x
Crop from the 50mp above
The A56 is a bit crisper with more detail.
Display
The screen clarity and brightness is a clear win for A56 with a noticeable improvement, hard to show in the photo below, but it's very crisp.✅
A35 top, A56 below
A56 with Buds3
Of course you would expect that the higher A line model adds something over the lower spec...lots of things here and there are just thatlittle bit better..but you pay for it, around £100 more over the A3x models.
The lack of wireless charging is a shame at this higher end of midrange.
A34, A35, A56
As always, go out for a touch and feel before making any purchase decisions, all the improvements from the A3x to A5x might be meaningful to you....or could also make no difference for your use..both great devices.

Very detailed, informative Post. Your comments on cameras illustrate my biggest complaint regarding smartphone manufacturers, in particular Samsung.
Every new model claims better and better cameras, whilst dropping other features without mention. The latest example of this is the difference between the A54 and A56 - A54 has expandable storage (SD card slot) but the A56 does not! Grrrrr...

@GusB certainly an interesting and informative review. 🙏Good to see the comparison though as expected the A56 comes out ahead.

Personally I see SD cards as not the fastest Technology (though quality of cards vary) and can be prone to error. I have not used them for some time, there is more priority given to cloud storage though I also back up locally. I realise some value the SD option but the slot being removed from the latest A models and not been present on S series for a while.
