Galaxy A34 G5: Screen unlock does not ask for PIN

I just got an A34 G5. The default screen lock type is by PIN, secondary option is face recognition.

  • The screen lock is set to come into effect immediately after the screen turns off or after pressing the side key.
  • Extend unlock is not set up.
  • Swipe is not activated.

However, most of the time the screen can be unlocked simply with just a swipe. It seems to take ages until the PIN lock comes into effect.

How I can change this and disable the swipe option? The phone should always ask for the PIN.

Just a thought as I have the same device for work.....

You haven't set up a fingerprint have you? If you have, the side button is the one to press with your fingerprint hence my question.

Fingerprint authentication is not set up. Just PIN as default and face recognition as backup.

I tried to let the screen time out and the side button. But most f the time it is not asking for the PIN and just accepts a swipe, which it should not do. I can even leave the phone for an hour and it just displays the swipe option.

Maybe try a pin reset / change and then change it back again to the number you use?

I haven't seen the issue in my work device.
