I’d like to request a small but important compatibility fix for HEIC/HEIF images produced by Samsung phones.
Samsung currently writes camera orientation only to the EXIF:Orientation tag. HEIC/HEIF files can also include QuickTime:Rotation. Some viewers use the QuickTime:Rotation field instead of EXIF:Orientation; when only one tag is present, those viewers display rotated photos incorrectly.
Request: Please make HEIC/HEIF images include both tags by default and ensure they stay synchronized whenever an image is rotated or edited. Concretely:
When saving a photo, set both EXIF:Orientation and QuickTime:Rotation with equivalent semantics.
When a user rotates or edits an image, update both tags so they never disagree.
This will eliminate cross-viewer display bugs, improve interoperability with photo managers and cloud services, and reduce user confusion/complaints about “wrongly rotated” photos.

Yes, thank you. I did that as well, but I think it helps to gain support for the idea from others, and perhaps get some improvement suggestions.

As I already mentioned, I did that already.
