Edge Lighting style notification doesn't work on Samsung A12.

But" Edge panel "is not the same as "Edge Lighting style" notification .

The disadvantage is that the notification does not display permanently like the LED light used to do. The LED light was dropped a number of phones back for some peculiar reason.

It was dropped in 2016 by Motorola too so I am guessing the original LED indicators were no longer supported by Android natively and the OEMs couldn't be bothered coding it themselves. The silly thing is, my Moto G4 still has the LED which blinks when you start charging it if the phone is powered off. But that is all it does and ever did.
