Apps preventing proper charging

I have an A70 which is two years old but the battery was replaced after one year (nothing was wrong with it, it was done as a courtesy when I had the screen replaced).
Recently, my phone stopped charging no matter what chargers I used. I did a full factory reset which seemed to help, but it happened again when I started re-loading my apps.
Now I have to put it into safe mode, 'kickstart' charging by connecting it to a laptop, and only after that (and removing the latest app) will it charge normally again.
SO frustrating as it's happening whenever I install apps I used to use regularly (e.g. British Airways app). Any advice please as I can't continue to risk the phone not charging every time I install an app?
Thanks

Thanks - did all of that before the last option of the full factory reset. 😔

pretty frustrating that no answers were ever posted here. i have an a71 that will charge perfectly fine after a restart, unless you unplug it for more than a half hour or so. after that it will not start charging no matter what cable or box you use unless you restart it, in which case it will begin charging perfectly fine. this is very obviously a software issue, i have factory reset the phone and even attempted reflashing it, a disappointing endeavor once i found that for some reason at&t feels like they can lock the bootloader on a phone they no longer own. so here i am back at square 1 trying to figure out what app is causing this issue. extremely frustrating and im finding no answers online other than "well did ya clean your charging port?" i just got the phone and have little to no third part apps installed. the issue has to be either in the OS itself or somewhere in the pile of bloatware that at&t installs on a phone that they, once again, do not own.
