Android 10 contacts not displaying fully post update

Just installed the 10 update what have they done  when I access contacts from keypad? Previously it gave you a best match now it only displays the letters you type.and their number which if I knew it I would have typed. 

Does anyone have a fix? Is so blinking annoying

Actually I've just noticed now I'm in pitch black that the names are showing but are really dark so you can't see them
