Hello I've just managed to raise enough money to get a mobile phone as I (have smashed not one, but 2 Samsung s10 plus. ) dropped and broke my screen on the phone answering a call whilst riding a bike.. Moving on, I ended up with a Samsung a13 to put me on. Mind you it's kept me with it.

Could anyone please inform me on if the phone is in anyway 5g? Not a problem if not with the phone. But said shop were I purchased it advertised it as 5g. But I don't think this is. Is the a13 been upgraded since it's launch.

I'd like to thank you for reading this and I'd really be over the moon of someone could get back to me in due course.
God bless

As mentioned before. Need to know the model number.
Also do you have a phone network contract that has 5G. You will also need a new version SIM card if yours is old

Hi @chal74

On a Google Search type in the name and model of your phone then specs at the end and choose the gsmarena.com link and that will show you if your phone has 5G.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

Go to
Settings> connections > Mobile networks > Network mode

Here your phone will display 5G/4G/3G/2G( auto connect) as in the screenshot.
If yes then the phone has 5G. 1724386327847.jpg

@chal74  There are two different versions,  SM-A136 will be the  5G one as @Robin999  has mentioned , you will need  5G included in your contract.  Differences between the models here:  https://www.phonearena.com/phones/compare/Samsung-Galaxy-A13-5G,Samsung-Galaxy-A13/phones/11849,1188...

Definitely check your networks provisions as Glentech & JAMES4578 wisely advices as o2 does does not provide 5g on pay as you go

Go to SETTINGS, CONNECTIONS

Then ... MOBILE NETWORKS.

you should get a screen like this. See pic

Scroll down to NETWORK MODE.
you should have a choice of connections.

Not sure if SIM card makes a difference, otherwise it'll give you a choice of 5g etc.
