Looks like the S25 ultra is only getting an ultra wide upgrade 😞

I think it's official from the leaks. The new S25 Ultra will only be getting a new 50mp ultra wide and every other camera will stay exactly the same.

Same 12mp selfie camera

The same 5000ma battery since the s20 ultra

Ive also read that they have the same m13 panel from the s24 ultra and not the new m14 which Apple and pixel have.

I don't think I'll be upgrading next year

I'm very disappointed 😞

If this is true, it follows recent press stories about the Fold 7 series having their production run cut (all be it the S25 series getting an uplift).

Samsung don't appear to be listening. We need to see a major upgrade not just to cameras but elsewhere otherwise buyers will look elsewhere.

Camera upgrades essential
Battery charging to 67w
Screen upgrade to 4k
Slim Edition both for S25 and Fold series
Better battery life

These are some of the things Samsung need to work on (in my view).
I am not employed by Samsung nor do I receive any remuneration as a Samsung Members Star.

My device is an S25 Ultra.

If this is true, I'll stick to my S24 Ultrac
I was hoping for quite an upgrade given the poor reception to the S24 series.....

Due to the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, S25 series are going to get much longer battery life and upgrades in everyway. The s20 ultra is still capable but its starting to show its age against thr s24 ultra rn and considering its 11 months old.
Best value prolly standard s24 cus 7 years of updates whichl be the same on s25 seriez

First every Appliance in my house is Samsung and I am typing this message on an s24 Ultra along with having Samsung earbuds three different pairs and three Samsung watches. I am not just bashing Samsung for no reason! I own an IT company and have so for 15 years. I have paid very close attention to Android and iOS since the very second it was talked about and we could get the SDK! 2006 was when the rumor started in 2007 is when I had access to the SDK and the iPhone came out followed by the first Android device! Once again I want Samsung Google and Apple to truly innovate but if people don't stop buying their devices when they're not they never will innovate!!  They'll continue taking heavy advantage! At this point in time people in the West have been generationally leaped by the Chinese market! The majority of the Chinese devices people are carrying in South Asia put the three devices people in the west have access to to shame ( pixel, iphone, s device)

With that said, yes the s25 ultra will get better battery life but the device is literally the s24 ultra otherwise.   The Identical lithium ion battery ,embarrassing charging speeds, The Identical display tech, three of the four cameras are literally identical sensors.  People getting offended and start pretending the device is going to be an amazing upgrade because it's getting the Snapdragon 8 Elite is simply not true. Defending these massive tech companies is not helping. Yes it'll be faster yes it will be more efficient but it will not turn old camera sensors into new camera sensors. Any improvements will be software driven. the problem people will argue otherwise and claim Samsung really did provide us a huge upgrade when they didn't.  You would think consumers would be angry with what's being done to them especially when they are going to charge $200 more per device! Samsung has every ability to make the best device on the market they choose to pretend they create the best device on the market and use marketing to manipulate users!

Most people that pay close attention to the details of these devices assumed that the s25 ultra was going to be the best device Samsung had ever made because they assumed Samsung would provide us with their top of the line latest hp9 200 megapixel sensor in the s25 ultra. We now know Samsung once again cut corners.. the sickest part about this is Samsung continued cutting Corners after being forced to apologize for no innovation (yes Samsung was forced to do a public apology and apologize for not innovating look it up on YouTube) because consumers are starting to catch on and stopped buying their devices Samsung missed there profit Mark by $900 million dollars!!  Seeing that apology and realizing that they were not hitting their profit gave me hope until I saw the s25 ultra specs and design and realized they did not mean what they said in their apology!

As I said there is something strange going on in the Western Tech Market. Why would Samsung create an amazing camera sensor and allows Chinese manufacturers to utilize the new sensor in their devices ( Samsung's competition). The HP9 is an actual 1-in camera sensor (Samsung HP9) and it's used in the Vivo X100 Ultra,  a device from Vivo last year which still has the best camera on any device to this day! The Vivo X200 Pro is fairly close in performance but last year's X100 Ultra with the Snapdragon 8 gen 3 still outperforms every device on the market camera wise! The craziest part is everybody even all the YouTube people continue trying to convince people that the iPhone 16 pro (aka iPhone 11 pro gen 5) the s24 and the upcoming s25 Ultra cameras are one of the best on the market. This simply hasn't been true.  I believe the YouTube tech channels must be making money from Samsung for promoting their devices. The Vivo X200 Pro is the device most people who want the best camera will purchase. The x200 pro utilizes the mediatec dimensity 9400 for its processor and while it isn't quite as powerful as the Snapdragon 8th gen Elite on processing it completely destroys the Snapdragon 8 Elite on graphics and gaming. The X200 Pro has a 200 megapixel telephoto lens!! At 20x Zoom the photos are nearly lossless.. the macro photography with this device is shocking. There are multiple videos of the X200 Pro being compared to a mirrorless $2,000 camera and it's impossible to tell the difference between the two. The pictures this device takes are so far superior to anything the West has that it is truly shocking!! If the Western consumers could walk into a store and have Google Apple and Samsung devices alongside the vivo, honor, xiaomi, Huawei , ETC devices no one would purchase one of the big three Google Apple and samsung! The Chinese devices look better and utilize different patterns and original colors.  Samsung Google and Apple have an advantage in the west because the markets work to hide the the Chinese devices.     At what point did these massive companies think that everybody wants their devices to all look exactly like the iPhone 11 when sitting on a table?

Chinese devices have far superior ltpo OLED displays, silicon carbon batteries with 80 to 120 W wired charging and 50 watts wireless, the majority of the Chinese devices all have better camera sensors then Google Apple or Samsung.  When you buy one of these Chinese devices you get a case a pre-installed screen protector and anywhere from an 80 to 120 W charging brick depending on the charging speed set on the device. When you buy a Chinese device the device is protected out of the box with the screen protector in the case and can charge from 0 to 100 in less than an hour.

Consumers in the West are basically indoctrinated. Most have completely accepted the fact that these giant companies stopped providing charging bricks by claiming it was for the "carbon footprint" which is a blatant lie that is almost comical that people believed! The fact that Western consumers accepted that excuse is shocking! Not providing charging bricks was nothing but another profit grab! First the idea that humans control the weather of a billion-year-old planet is nothing but a sick joke! It's even more of a sick joke that Western consumers believed that by not getting a charging brick with your new phone was somehow preventing humans from changing the weather of the billion year old planet!!  The definition of weather is climate change!!

It does need to be said that the anti-reflective coating on the s24 ultra began failing in about 6 months. I take extremely good care of my devices but the coating begin failing which made my s24 ultra absolutely worthless on the resale Market. Anyone that would look at the device would assume this screen was damaged or something because of how bad the screen looks when the anti-reflective coating fails. At this point knowing that the new tab S10 Ultra has the same coating and the s25 ultra will also have that coating I wouldn't touch the devices with a 10-ft pole. Anyone that does buy one of those devices must immediately put a screen protector on the device. This will eliminate the properties of the anti reflective screen but it will protect it for the future resale value of the device.
