Sorry to hear you’re still experiencing crashes with Gmail and that the app keeps being put into deep‑sleep. Below are a few steps that may help you resolve the issue:
1. Check for Gmail app updates - make sure that the latest version of Gmail is installed.
2. Clear cache and data - Settings → Apps → Gmail → Storage → Clear cache and then Clear data (this will reset the app, so you’ll need to sign in again).
3. Reboot the device - a simple restart can clear temporary glitches.
4. Uninstall and reinstall - if the problem persists, uninstall Gmail and then reinstall it from the Play Store.
