Developer mode increased risk

Heyo, this might take a little explaining.

One ui 8 has added an extra protection system to usb connections. Meaning you have to enter your code or fingerprint to set the usb port to transfer files.

Having developer mode enabled allows this to be bypassed. So where in one ui 7 developer mode didn't have any risks due to auto blocker disabling risky features. It now can be used to bypass usb file transfer protections.

My kinda advice is keep dev mode off as turning it on requires your code, but only once.

For anyone reading this who might also not know. Enter the developer mode settings page, big toggle at the very top of the screen, turn it off

I know you found it Brooklin but someone reading this might have the same question

I'll take some getting use to the standard animations but it shouldn't take me long.

If you really benefit from it on, you can keep it on.

To actually abuse dev mode as I described someone would need to physically have your phone unlocked and connect it to a pc using USB. Kinda a rare situation. But the fact samsung has added protection to it means it's worth me mentioning the bypass

Hello @arianwen27,

Thanks for reporting! Please also send an error report through Samsung Members app so that the developers can take a look. I will forward this to the relevant team, but sending an error report will also be helpful. Thank you 😊

Have a good day!
