That doesn't work at all for my phone. I tried from Google wallet. It says that this beta software might be rooted.

Hey there and welcome to the Samsung UK and EU Community Customer to Customer Forum

When you signed up for Beta, you were presented with a screen that told you Google Wallet won't work during beta. You then had to click on a button to acknowledge you understood.

Why then are you questioning why Google Wallet isn't working? The information was clearly presented but clearly not read or forgotten.
I am not employed by Samsung nor do I receive any remuneration as a Samsung Members Star.

My device is an S25 Ultra.

That might be the case . But why can't they fix it . This is absolutely disgraceful from Samsung. If they don't fix it in the next couple of weeks, I'll definitely go with iPhone .

This is because you have chosen to try on the UI7 Beta which is a trial version, and that means that is a test software where they try how it works and how people like it and how they get on with it on these selected devices. It's not a stabls Software as yet, hence so many security measures, although for some users is working mint and they were happy to use it as it is. I have S25U with UI7 on it and Google Wallet works as expected.
When rumours about UI7 Beta first appeared, word was that Google Wallet may be replaced with Samsung Wallet, just to be aware.

It is because Beta software (not just Samsungs' but any manufacturer and Android build) does not have a valid [signed] security file which is what secure applications like Wallet etc use to authenticate against. If it didn't have this security then it would be possible for security signatures to be replicated and used maliciously. It would be similar with Apple (if they actually did public beta testing). Apple Pay would not be fully functional in their beta releases.
My Google Wallet does actually work 9/10 times, but I've done the Beta programmes over the last 3 years and know full well when i sign up that certain things like banking and secure apps may not work correctly, that there may be some quirks and blips with things, and randomness. The whole point of Beta participation is to have the software in it's pre-release development statges and to contribute to ironing out bugs and issues through general public testing (it's impossible to do that kind of testing in house via scripting), suggest improvements, and feed it back to dev teams.

This isn't entirely true, the beta builds in more recent years have pretty much always been securely signed. From memory the only time they weren't were the S7 Nougat beta builds and earlier as not even Samsung Pay would work with those.

The issue is if the app in question relies on security checks provided by the Google Play Services API. A lot of these checks have gotten more stringent over the years which is why it's becoming more and more of an issue. One of these is a device integrity check which is the one which causes the issue. Part of this involves a 'profile match' check where it checks the software build fingerprint (this consists of the full build number, android version, model number, device codename and a few other things) against a database on Google's servers to verify if it is deemed secure. Confusingly this is an entirely different thing from Google Play device certification, as that just goes off the model number and device codename.

Understandably due to the frequency of the beta builds Samsung don't always certify/register all of them with Google, hence why some builds on some devices have issues while others don't. I believe the certification can also have a validity period which can expire too. There has been some cases where Samsung hasn't certified official firmwares too (which was quickly rectified) so it's not something specific to the beta. I've also found that if an app has an alternative version on the Galaxy Store then that version will work fine as the Galaxy Store versions do not use the Play Services API. Ive found this to be the case with a handful of games.

Also as a side note, Apple have in fact been doing public beta testing on newer iOS versions for a few years now and Apple Pay usually works on those beta builds. I recall there was a particular nasty bug in the first iOS 18 beta where the Apple Pay app itself was very temperamental but that was down to a software bug rather than a security limitation
