Good question. I'll answer it but also wanted to feedback on my experience of the beta this year...
I was delighted that Samsung had made Android13 available so quickly this year. Previously it's felt that the development cycle has lagged behind stock Android so badly - not this time!
👏The downside however was the release felt a little flat. The new features were fairly underwhelming, and I do regret that there wasn't a 'wow' feature to raise the pulse rate.
I have though been really happy with the beta experience this year. The release had been incredibly stable and (for me) it's caused only a very insignificant problem which was quickly resolved - (object eraser). All aspects of performance, cosmetics, battery and connectivity have been rock solid.
Engagement from the beta community has been really positive and I've learnt a lot from other people. The moderators have been helpful and communicative, although we hear nothing back from the messages that went to the developers...
For the next version of OneUI, I would like to see the developers spend more time giving us customisation options. Much of GoodLock should be native within OneUI, and at the end of this I'll still be using Microsoft Launcher because the home screen and app folder customisation are miles ahead of OneUI. The lock screen has scarcely progressed since the Galaxy S9, and Apple ios16 looks much nicer now.
For the actual beta process, I would want to see more pinned notices about common faults and solutions. We should be able to link threads to previous threads or 'verified answers' to help fellow beta users who post queries that are already answered. (Or the ability to tick a box that says "I'm having this problem too").
We should also see a list of say, the top 20 suggestions/development requests that the community can then vote on to help shape grass-roots led developmental priorities. This would be moderated and updated by by the beta moderators, with some kind of feedback on progress from the dev team.
I'd like to say thanks to the Samsung Beta Team as not many tech companies are as open as this with their customers, and I look forward to the final release version soon.
