For some reason, even with my RTX 3080 and i9-10900K, with 64 GB of RAM, this monitor is going out of its way to make every game I play look absolutely horrible, with frame rates not even a tenth of the 240 you're supposedly able to get out of this thing.
One example is Horizon Zero Dawn. No matter how I tweak the settings, even at a really low graphics setting, I'm barely able to pull off 40 FPS. This ignores the fact that with a PC this beastly, I shouldn't have to be tweaking this and sacrificing that just to get a smooth gameplay experience.
What am I doing wrong? Why does any game I play in widescreen mode -- HZD, Overwatch, RDR2, Control, Doom Eternal -- look and perform like absolute garbage?
