Serial number don't match between my phone and its camera... Which camera to order ?

I have to replace my friend's s20 5G camera (european version).
So I ordered a new one corresponding to the phone's serial number : G981/DS (the camera is meant to work both for G980F and G981B). I replaced it but got the "camera failure" message. The old camera still works though (with dots, that's why I'm replacing it), so not a motherboard problem.
Looking deeper, I found that serial number on the old camera is G986B, corresponding to a ...s20+...in a s20 5G. You get the point, the serial number don't match, and I don't know what camera to order.
For reference, the G986B camera (s20+) comes in a different metal shell, which won't fit into the phone. So I cannot just order a s20+ camera.
Is there a way to "adapt" the software to this new "uncompatible" camera ? Or do I need to order another one ? If so, which serial number ?
That's a lot of questions I reckon. I just can't figure it out. Thank you for your help !

In order to solve the malfunction of the camera of the Galaxy S20 5G, I would recommend you to approach a Samsung authorized proximity center, they will bring you all the necessary assistance.

Also, I suggest you to go there with the purchase invoice of your smartphone if it is still under Manufacturer's Warranty.
