Hello, everyone, I have a SAMSUNG Galaxy S20 5G Fan Edition and sometimes, when I press on the power button, the phone won't turn on and the second time I hold down the same power button, the phone boots up normally.

Has anyone experienced the same issue, is it a hardware or a software problem ?

Best regards

Sebastian

The thing is, the phone doesn't suddenly shut down it works perfectly normally, it sometimes won't boot up normally, it's so weird so if you have any ideas, it would be deeply appreciated.

Hello @Salmon260,
Did you charge the phone fully when attempting to switch on the phone?
If not, that's recommended.
Else if it is a yes, try to give your phone a boost by plugging in a power source.
Else there's other way to switch on a samsung phone when the power button doesn't work, you can try by pressing the lower volume button until it boot or force start by pushing lower volume bouton and power button for about 20sec.
Hope that's help!

Hello, thank you very much for your reply. No I have not tried turning my phone on, when it reaches 100 % of battery charge and I always empty the battery down to 15 %, charge it up every night to 100 % and timing the charge, to not overcharge my phone and turn the phone on every morning. I've cleared the virtual memory and cleared the cash memory, to see if it makes any difference.

Best regards.

What puzzles me, is that I have a close to a 5 year old SAMSUNG Galaxy A50, I wait until the battery level drops to 15, put it on charge every evening, or morning depending on the timing that I go to bed and charge my phone up to 100 %, then turn it back on with out any problem.

By the way, the power buttons's not broken on my SAMSUNG Galaxy S20, it's absolutely fine.

Hello, I have some good news: after recharging my SAMSUNG GALAXY S20 to 100 % and clear the virtual memory and cash memory, my phone booted right up this morning and it took much less longer to scan my external SSD card on my phone.

Best regards

Yes and I hope that, that technic keeps working in the future and that it's not a sign of a future motherboard failure.
