I'm trying to set up my new Music Frame to allow Alexa control but SmartThings is always stuck at the sign in stage, no matter what I've tried.
I have:
- disabled/enabled smartthings skill in Alexa app
- removed and added the music frame
- ensured all apps are up to date
- installed latest firmware on the music frame
It's frustratingly difficult. Any help appreciated.

I finally managed to link it to Alexa using a different device so it's obviously an issue with some devices and not others.

🚀 Fix: Alexa Not Connecting to SmartThings for Music Frame Control 🎵
It sounds like you’ve already tried several troubleshooting steps, but here are a few additional solutions that might help resolve the issue:
1️⃣ Clear SmartThings App Cache 📲 – If you're using Android, go to Settings > Apps > SmartThings > Storage and clear the cache. For iOS, reinstalling the app can refresh its settings.
2️⃣ Use a Different Network 🌐 – If possible, try setting up your Music Frame on a different Wi-Fi network (e.g., a mobile hotspot) just to rule out any connectivity issues.
3️⃣ Reauthorize SmartThings in Alexa 🔄 – Instead of just disabling/enabling the skill, completely remove the SmartThings connection from Alexa, then re-add it:
- Go to Alexa App > Devices > Smart Home Skills
- Find SmartThings, disable it, then log out
- Restart your phone and Echo device
- Re-enable SmartThings and sign in again
4️⃣ Try a Different SmartThings Account 🔑 – If possible, create a new SmartThings account and link it to Alexa. Some users have found success with a fresh account.
5️⃣ Alternative Smart Music Solutions 🎶 – If SmartThings keeps failing, you might want to explore third-party music streaming alternatives that integrate smoothly with Alexa, such as the Blackhole Music App. It offers high-quality audio, offline playback, and an ad-free experience – perfect for smart music lovers! 🎧🔥
If none of these steps work, it may be a temporary issue on Samsung's or Amazon's end. Hopefully, a firmware update will fix it soon! 🤞
